Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-bugs->sound Over to the sound maintainers State Changed From-To: open->closed Could not reproduce problem and timing it out. Believe it was due to PCI latency being set too small in BIOS on machine in question: other users have reported similar problem on different h/w when this was the case, though I could not reproduce this with any PCI latency setting at home... |
Install an "ASound Express 32-bit PnP" PCI sound card, with the ALS4000 chipset. The sound is extremely harsh and "clipped" and there's a loud hissing sound too. Tried adjusting all levels, moving the card, etc to no avail. > cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Nov 21 2001 10:02:21 Installed devices: pcm0: <Avance Logic ALS4000> at io 0xdc00 irq 11 (1p/1r/0v channels duplex)
