Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-ports->portmgr repo-copy first : ORBacus -> ORBacus4 [CCed to devel/ORBacus Maintainer] Do we really need 2 ORBacus Ports in the Portstree? The devel/ORBacus Port is quite out of date - It isn't at the latest release of the 3.x - It uses the old OMG CORBA 2.0 specification (dated 1997), which has, AFAI am into the CORBAstuff, a lot of disadvantages against the actual 2.4 specification. IMHO nobody would start to develop an application based on this ORB now adays. I I think this PR can be used to update the devel/ORBacus port. regards arved Responsible Changed From-To: portmgr->ports Since the current ORBacus port is (a) horrendously outdated and (b) has no other ports depending on it, I think the repocopy is overkill, and the port should simply be updated as-is. Therefore, back to ports@ for a ports committer to deal with it. Responsible Changed From-To: ports->freebsd-ports Misfiled. State Changed From-To: open->feedback This PR needs a patch submitted against devel/ORBacus if it wants to get committed. I agree with ade and Tilman that this doesn't justify a new port. The devel/ORBacus port hasn't been touched in more than 2 years. Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-ports->arved I'll handle this State Changed From-To: feedback->suspended The distfile isn't avialable anymore on the MASTER_SITE. Also the License is unclear. I was not able to get a statement from IONA (but know I am on their spamlist :-(. Until there is new information I will suspend this PR. State Changed From-To: suspended->closed Obviously OB isn't Opensource anymore. There is no point in adding it to the ports collection, if there is no strong demand from the userbase. (Me and ejb are not using OB anymore). |
