Bug 39524

Summary: smbfs with nge NIC causes kernel panic
Product: Base System Reporter: jacs <jacs>
Component: kernAssignee: Andre Oppermann <andre>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Unspecified
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description jacs 2002-06-19 14:50:01 UTC
used mount_smbfs and got a kernel panic.

The mount seem to go ok as I can see the mount point but after a few seconds I
get

panic:nge_jfree:freeing buffer of wrong size!

Fix:

Asked phk and he thought that smbfs could not handle the buffer type
offered by the NGE driver.
How-To-Repeat: just do an smbfs mount with an NGE type NIC and then list the mount point
always falls over.
