I've recently bought a new motherboard(ECS P4S5A P4 478), a P4 1.7GHz processor
,256MB DDR of ram and a new hard disc.

After installing freebsd 4.6 and trying to install some ports sometimes fatal traps
occured during the compiling process. Later I started compiling my kernel and
another fatal trap ocurred, then i rebooted and compiled the kernel and installed
it again and fortunately no problems occurred. I've already checked if my RAM is
wrecked with memtest but it did not find any errors. I've collected some info
about some of the traps:

Since these two panics are quite different (GPF in kernel mode vs. 
page fault in kernel mode) and the problem seems to be associated 
with compiling things, I'm almost certain your problem is an 
overheating CPU, a bad mad memory controler or other sick hardware. 
I also haven't heard of anyone else experiencing problems like 
this with 4.6.  

Can you try some different hardware (better CPU coolers, new ram, 
different MB) and let us know if the problem goes away.
