Description Tilman Linneweh 2002-07-18 20:00:07 UTC
The Section about ftp Mirrors is outdated.

The following ftp servers are listed, but don't have a DNS Entry
	anymore:
        ftp4.fr, ftp5.fr, ftp7.fr

The following ftp servers are not listed in the Handbook.
        ftp.at, ftp.bg, ftp.ch, ftp.sg, ftp.hu, ftp.it, ftp.no, ftp2.no ftp3.no
        ftp7.jp, ftp2.pl, ftp4.za, ftp8.tw, ftp9.tw ftp10.tw ftp11.tw
and ftp14 (This list is incomplete, i haven't checked all country
	zonefiles).

I can't judge about the Importance of an 11. Mirror in .tw, but
there is no Mirror listed for the Countries at, bg, ch, sg, hu, it,
and no, IMHO they should be listed.

Another problem: Some mirrors died, and the CC-hostmasters added
aliases, to prevent the links in the Handbook pointing to Nirvana.
E.g. ftp3.de and ftp5.de point to the same IP adress. So i think
it is questionable to mention this ftp-mirrors more than one time in
	the handbook.

This is my first docs-PR so please have mercy. If something is missing
I will provide it. I have made no SGML-Diff, but if one is needed,
	I can provide one.

I came to similar conclusions independently, but I missed some of the sites
listed in this PR.  There is an ongoing discussion on -doc and -hubs;
I will take care of this PR after some consensus is reached.
