      when i log on as root i get this error when i type in startx 
xauth:(argv):1: bad display name ":0" in "add" command

Fix: 

i don't know can you help me
How-To-Repeat:            when i log on as root i get this error when i type in startx and it will also freeze up.

Is this still a problem?  What versions of the X ports are you using? 
Does it freeze every time you run startx?  If so, what's in your
XF86Config (email it to me).  The xauth message probably isn't a problem
(and if you're freezing, it isn't *the* problem).  If you have a
/var/log/XFree86.0.log after rebooting, could you send it to me?
