Can not make device rast0 for a 4/8 or 10/20 travan tape backup. There is a ast0 and a nast0. They would hang at the end of a the "tar" command. ex. "tar cv /etc" Could not kill the process. The machine would have to be booted.

Fix: 

Had to drop down to 4.4-RELEASE to find the rast0 driver.
