Summary: Bug in `kpackage' from `sysutils/kdeadmin3': duplicating categories in tree, strange OTHER category
Product: Ports & Packages Reporter: lev <lev>
Component: Individual Port(s)Assignee: freebsd-kde (group) <kde>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me

Description lev 2003-02-16 18:00:28 UTC
`kpackage' program from `kdeadmin-3.1' package knows about BSD ports/packages
system, but it shows too many categories: almost every category presents in
tree twice. Category tree on my computer looks like:

 BSD
   OTHER
     freeciv-imlib
     gnomehier
     ...
   archivers
     arc
     bzip
     cabextract
     ha
     lha
     rar
     unarj
     unrar
     unzip
     zip
     zoo
   archivers
     lzo
   audio
     esound
     gdm
     lame
     liba52
     libaudiofile
     libogg
     libvorbis
     mad
     rplay
     sox
   audio
     arts
     gnomeaudio
     gnomemedia
   converters
     uulib
   converters
     libiconv
     p5-MIME-Base64
   databases
     ...
   databases
     ...
   ...

Category `OTHER' is populated with some normal ports, it likes to be bug too!

Also, `Installed' and `All' pages are the same: `All' page doesn't show
ALL ports from /usr/ports/INDEX, but only installed ones.

How-To-Repeat:
Try to use `kpackage' on system with 350+ installed ports/packages.

Comment 4 Andy Fawcett 2003-10-07 06:42:52 UTC
The duplicate categories part of the bug should already be fixed. Please
re-verify that with KDE 3.1.4.
Comment 5 Michael Nottebrock 2003-10-07 17:59:30 UTC
It is, I didn't mention it in the bugreport in KDE's bugzilla either.
