Bug 52812

Summary: FTP problems when using dummynet + ipfilter
Product: Base System Reporter: Marko Kuntic <mkuntic>
Component: kernAssignee: freebsd-bugs (Nobody) <bugs>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 5.0-RELEASE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Marko Kuntic 2003-05-30 16:20:14 UTC
Attempting to access FTP servers outside of the local area network, which uses
the FreeBSD machine as a gateway, fails from every machine except the gateway
itself. All other services _seem to_ function normally. IPFilter is used on
the gateway for firewalling, and dummynet for bandwidth limitation.

Fix:

UNKNOWN
How-To-Repeat: This occurs when dummynet is, via ipfw rule, set to limit the bandwidth of both
incoming and outgoing traffic. If it's set to limit ingress only, accessing
external FTP sites functions normally from any system.
