Bug 60029

Summary: 5.2-RC will not boot with empty LS-120 drive and atapicam

Description Mark Dixon 2003-12-07 23:20:12 UTC

My system will not boot past the atapicam 'probing' without a disk in its LS-120 drive with the 5.2-RC build. This has been the case (as far as I know) since ATAng became a part of the system (it worked fine with 5.1).

I have indicated where the boot fails without the disk in the LS-120 in the system environment. No atapicam output is shown releating to the LS-120, the boot process just stops at this point and goes no further.

All modules loaded were compiled at the same time as the kernel.

How-To-Repeat:

Boot the system without a disk in the LS-120 drive. Workaround is to put a disk in before the LS-120 is probed by atapicam.

Could this be related to the LS-120 using WDMA1, which is 'problematic' (se=
e=20
pr bin/60670)?
