This is a known fact.  Since there are no patches in the PR, there is little

It may interest you to know that the commercial OSS driver
(http://opensound.com/) has much better support for sound
systems with more than two speakers.  But as obrien said,
the stock FreeBSD driver simply doesn't support this right now.
