Summary: /etc/resolv.conf not created after fresh 5.2RC2 install
Product: Base System Reporter: Dany Nativel <dany>

Description Dany Nativel 2003-12-27 22:00:26 UTC
I'm behind a firewall with DHCP capabilities.

I removed my 4.9 install and went for a 5.2RC2 from scratch (HDD wiped).
I configured the network through sysinstall and rebooted (vr0/DHCP).

My vr0 interface gets its IP address, gateway information .... but no name
can be resolved (ping google.com).

I tried to look at my /etc/resolv.conf ... there was no /etc/resolv.conf file.

Fix:

create an empty /etc/resolv.conf file and restart
How-To-Repeat: remove /etc/resolv.conf

Does your "firewall with DHCP" provide Nameserverinformation for the
DHCP-clients?

This does not seem i386-specific.
