Please add some detail. What in the world is a "GDT8514RZ"?
What motherboard do you have? What CPU(s)? What memory? Is the
system stable with out the "GDT8514RZ" (what ever it is)?

is a "GDT8514RZ"? Also what motherboard do you have? What CPU(s)? What
memory? Is the system stable with out the "GDT8514RZ" (what ever it is)?

The GDT8514RZ appears to be a RAID controller caard by ICP Vortex. Maybe
supported by the iir(4) driver.

Adding another question to the questions already asked by obrien:
What firmware do you use on the GDT card?
