Description Christopher Nehren 2004-03-01 16:30:13 UTC
I found to my delighted surprise that although undocumented, the ste(4)
driver supports a D-Link 530-TXS ethernet card.

Fix: This only fixes the manpage; I'm not brave enough to touch the SGML for the
webpages.
How-To-Repeat: Plug in one such card, kldload if_ste

Committed to -CURRENT, thanks for the submission!

Would it be posible for you to boot a 4.X kernel and see if the device
is also detected there ? The 4.X and 5.X drivers look very similar,
but I would prefer to be sure before MFC'ing the change to -STABLE.

I will handle a MFC if needed.

I got no response about the NIC working with 4.X, so I won't MFC.

For good order, and the records. The submitter had in fact responded
that the NIC worked on 4-STABLE, it just wasn't in the PR audit trail,
so I had forgotten about it again now when I closed the PR.

The change has been MFC'ed now.
