Bug 74137

Summary: FreeBSD 5.3 BTX loader stack overflows and hangs
Product: Base System Reporter: Kevin Adams <ksatechnologies>

Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me

Description Kevin Adams 2004-11-19 22:30:21 UTC
Using a 3Ware 9500S-8 and a ASUS NCCH-DR motherboard the BTX loader seems to garble the screen before Daemon comes up. Then hangs after Daemon arrives with a lot more garbage on the screen. The only ledgable error at the bottom left corner is 'Stack Overflow' (might also be 'error' but garbled). Boots with no problems or issues with FreeBSD 4.10-Release ISO CD with the above config. Remove the 3Ware controller and boot the 5.3-Release and all is fine. Have opened a case with 3Ware also.

Fix:

None at this time with 5.3-Release. 4.10-Release works.
How-To-Repeat: Boot 5.3-Release ISO with the above config.

Do you still see this problem with 6.0?
