State Changed From-To: open->feedback Do you have "device agp" in your kernelconfig, or did you load the agp kernelmodule? I have "device agp" in my kernel config. Regards, Daniel. Daniel Graupner wrote:

I have to add... I also tried the kernel module (without device agp in
kernelconfig) with the same results.
Regards, Daniel.
State Changed From-To: feedback->open Feedback received Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-i386->anholt anholt has expressed an interest in agp PRs. State Changed From-To: open->closed This is a limitation of older FreeBSD that is fixed in current CVS, and I don't really expect it to be backported. As a workaround, you can remove the loading of the agp_video module to allow attachment of agp again. |
I have a Dell Inspiron 510m Laptop with an Intel Graphics Card, since I upgraded from 5.3 to 5.4B1 (same Kernelconf, make buildworld) the system does not recognize the card anymore. dmesg|grep agp does not grep anything with 5.4, with 5.3 I had: agp0: <Intel 82855GME (855GME GMCH) SVGA controller> port 0xc000-0xc007 mem 0xfaf80000-0xfaffffff,0xf0000000-0xf7ffffff irq 11 at device 2.0 on pci0 agp0: detected 892k stolen memory agp0: aperture size is 128M With pciconf I am able to discover the card (5.4 and 5.3): acpi_video0@pci0:2:0: class=0x030000 card=0x01641028 chip=0x35828086 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82852GM/GME/GMV/PM, 855GM/GME Montara Integrated Graphics Device' class = display subclass = VGA acpi_video1@pci0:2:1: class=0x038000 card=0x01641028 chip=0x35828086 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82852GM/GME/GMV/PM, 855GM/GME Montara Integrated Graphics Device' class = display complete dmesg after upgrade: Copyright (c) 1992-2005 The FreeBSD Project.
