Free BSD will not install on my amd64 nForce 4 based platform.  I think it is a problem with the pci express platform.  I have also had this problem with linux distro's.

How-To-Repeat: Try to install on an nForce 4 chipset machine.

What doesn't work?  What PCI-Express devices do you have?  What
bootloader options have you tried?  What Linux problems are you
referring to?

David,

I have FreeBSD running on Asus A8nSLI deluxe mobo.  The only way I got 
it going was to disable ACPI during installation (then I took it out of 
kernel).
