Committed (with modifications), thanks! 

I made the following modifications: 
- no PORTREVISION bump: the run-time behaviour of existing installations is 
not changed 
- respect PTHREAD_CFLAGS 
- no need to link against -lc explicitely 
- removed ONLY_FOR_ARCHS line: Janos, what was the reason you introduced it 
in the first place?
