Description Josh Paetzel <josh@tcbug.org> 2005-06-24 02:20:09 UTC

25.5.3.1 Network Interface Card Selection

A bridge requires at least two network cards to function. Unfortunately,
not all network interface cards as of FreeBSD 4.0 support bridging. Read
bridge(4) for details on the cards that are supported.

Should probably be updated to 5.4 but mainly man 4 bridge does not list
supported ethernet cards.

Fix:

I don't have enough information to attempt a fix
How-To-Repeat: Read the handbook section and man pages

The section in question no longer mentions FreeBSD 4.0, nor NIC selection.
Also, it seems that bridge(4) has supported all ethernet devices since
2000 (see, for example, if_xl.c rev 1.74 commit log).

I think this PR should be closed.

FGeedback timeout (1 year). I'm pretty sure this one is OBE.
