Bug 85792

Summary: 53c1030 is detected, but doesn't work properly (IBM xSeries x335)
Product: Base System Reporter: keith <keith2211>
Component: kernAssignee: Mark Linimon <linimon>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Unspecified
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description keith 2005-09-06 13:00:31 UTC
I realised that FreeBSD crashes due to not being able to swap any data
into the swap mount on the device attached to the lsi 1030 controller.
I've managed to reproduce this on 2 similar IBM xSeries x335.

How-To-Repeat: To reproduce the crash, I mounted a ramdisk at /mnt/ramdisk and
deliberately tried occupying all the ram and I've noticed it crashes
when physical memory is exhausted and attempt made to swap.

Is this still a problem with recent versions of FreeBSD, such as 6.2?

Hi!

Seems that this is more related to problems with ramdisk (md(4)).
Some time ago i have tested RELENG_6 on the similar hardware.
All works good. Can you provide some debugging information?
