Bug 87882

Summary: emu10k1 and APCI on amd64 is just noisy
Product: Base System Reporter: Sven Gaerner <sgaerner>
Component: amd64Assignee: freebsd-amd64 (Nobody) <amd64>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 5.4-STABLE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Sven Gaerner 2005-10-23 21:40:20 UTC
I build the kernel with snd_emu10k1 device support. When ACPI is enabled
and I run 'esd -beeps' it's just noisy. Also playing WAV files with play
doesn't work. When ACPI is disabled I can use the soundcard as expected.

How-To-Repeat: -build a kernel on amd64 with ACPI support
-run 'esd -beeps'

do the same with acpi disabled

Is this still a problem with recent versions of FreeBSD such as 6.2?

Hi,

with FreeBSD 6.2 this problem does not exist anymore.

Thanks.
