nmap-3.93 returns the following error:
	Starting nmap 3.93 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2005-12-11 20:09 PST
	getinterfaces: Failed to open ethernet interface (bge0)
	QUITTING!

Fix: 

revert to previous version
How-To-Repeat: nmap <any flags> <ip_address>

Appears to be a bug in nmap.  Submitter reports that it was fixed in 
nmap-3.95.
