Current Opera (8.51) is still compiled against 4.x libraries. The distributed Motif plugin wrappers in /usr/X11R6/share/opera/plugins contain references to libXThrStub.so.6 which is no longer built by xorg-libraries for ${OSVERSION} >= 500043. For that reason Opera complains on start-up: | Opera encountered a problem during plug-in setup. | Plug-ins will not work properly. | Check your installation. | | Could not start plug-in executable 'operamotifwrapper'. | /usr/X11R6/lib/RealPlayer/plugins/operamotifwrapper-3 | Please install Motif. Note that the error message itself is misleading. It occurs even if open-motif is installed.
