As it said in the beta 2 announcement, packages are not yet complete,
so this is expected. In fact I have now uploaded a partial set of
packages, so if you were to try again in a day or so it will probably
work.

I saw ML messages about BETA2 on Opteron platform, so I wildly guessed basic packages (such as Perl) were already there.... I'll try again a couple of day later.
