File opened in Open Office; press the 'save' button, and seven messages are appended to /var/log/messages
"smb_maperror: Unmapped error 1:158"
//dan@sataraid/computing! /computing smbfs rw 0 0
Opening a terminal, and navigating to the target folder (/computing/docs/journals)
and creating/saving a file with vi does NOT cause the messages to appear.
No fix, but I will also contact the Open Office people.
How-To-Repeat: Create/change a file using OpenOffice 2.0 and save to samba share on FreeBSD 6.1.
Daniel and I had been discussing this already, mark the PR as feedback
so that others know this as well.

I have the same problem in FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE, which runs smbfs to
mount filesystems off Samba on another FreeBSD server.
Any progress on this problem?

I'm still getting the message
Jun 1 11:49:39 free156 kernel: smb_maperror: Unmapped error 1:158
Jun 1 11:59:39 free156 last message repeated 2 times
I have been ignoring it, looking forward to trying the next Samba
upgrade on the
server hosting my file shares.
My workstation is at FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p3 and Open Office is 2.2.
I'm also getting
Jun 1 11:41:29 xxxxxxxx smbd: [2007/06/01 11:41:29, 0]
Jun 1 11:41:29 xxxxxxxx smbd:
call_nt_transact_ioctl(0x280004): Currently not implemented.
in the server's /var/log/messages when someone prints to one of the
Samba printers. The server
is at FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE-p11 and smbd version 3.0.23c and the
workstations are WinXP and Win2000,
using the print drivers on the local machines.
Feedback was received some time ago.
After all this time i am still clueless about why this happends,
it doesn't show often else we would have seen this much more
Return to pool for further evaluation.
I think I'm able to reproduce this problem
grab for futher analysis
