I have NTFS partition mounted with mount_ntfs. When I try to copy any file, kernel panic occurs. As a workaround: you can use cat and stdout-redirection to copy a file: % cat /mnt/ntfs/minotaur-films.xls > ~/films.xls How-To-Repeat: 1. Mount any NTFS-partition with mount_ntfs or 'mount -o ro -t ntfs' 2. Try to copy any file to UFS partition

Hello Im experiencing the exact same issue on my Freebsd-8-p2 box FreeBSD knut 8.0-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 8.0-RELEASE-p2 #0: Tue Apr 27 04:36:16 UTC 2010 gunnar@knut:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64 Apr 27 16:19:09 knut kernel: pid 7944 (try), uid 0: exited on signal 10 (core dumped) Some notes about my system. Im using zfs as my root filesystem so no UFS. Computer reboots when I try to copy a file from an ntfs filesystem. The ntfs filesystem has been successfully used by windows and ntfs-3g on a linux box. Afraid I don't have more info than this at the moment. Close this pr. 7.0 is so far past EOL as this pr is now meaningless. And ntfs has been removed from 10.0 base see http://svnweb.freebsd.org/base/head/sbin/Makefile?view=log&pathrev=247665
NTFS support is no longer in the base system.
