Support for the Huawei E220 3G modem. At http://www.mavetju.org/weblog/html/00192.html and at http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/getmsg.cgi?fetch=84233+0+current/freebsd-usb is described that it works and how it works. I don't know how to overcome the "wiggle the cable half out of the socket" trick, but maybe that http://mail-index.netbsd.org/current-users/2007/11/29/0000.html will give people a hint. I'm more than happy to try anything (well, not really anything).

Updated patch that applies to todays HEAD: http://people.freebsd.org/~erwin/e220-usb.diff
Greetz, I've tried the patch above on FreeBSD/7.X. It works OK, but it doesn't give me HSDPA speeds, only 3G. I know this because I have a dual-boot system where my XP can go up to 1.XX Mbps speeds. I think the NetBSD/OpenBSD drivers are worth looking/porting into. Thanks. -- cheers mars
State Changed From-To: open->closed Huawei E220 and E169 now work with u3g in 7.2
