The machine locks up with the following message displayed on the monitor during the initial boot.

Tried all available options on the boot loader, but in all cases kernel locked up at the same place.

How-To-Repeat: 1. Put in the 7.0-RELEASE amd64 installation disc 1.
2. Select any option when prompted by the boot loader.

Similar lock-ups occur with i386 installation disc also.

Please try to disable USB in BIOS.

If that will drive you to a successful boot, please post us a verbose
boot dmesg and `pciconf -lv' output.

If you still experience problems, please try playing with ACPI settings
and check your vendor for an updated BIOS version.

After disabling USB controller in BIOS, I was able to install FreeBSD.

Once installed, I was not able to enable the network interface
(Realtek RTL8168/8111).

I saved the dmesg and pciconf information to text files, and then used
Ubuntu live CD to
mount the partition on which FreeBSD is installed to retrieve the text files.

Hoon Choi,

to get to the point where your system is hanging while USB is turned on,
we need a bit more dmesg output before the system is hanging. I
understand disabling USB is a temporary workaround and not an acceptable
solution. We just need to identify the source of the problem (it might
be a conflict when USB is enabled).

Please try enabling USB again, boot verbose and post us the output until
it hangs.

Also I'm wondering if you're able to disable the SATA-RAID functionality
in BIOS (assuming you don't want to use it). If mirroring is a need for
you, gmirror work better than the pseudo "hardware" mirror functionality
of the SATA-controller.

It's a bit lengthy but can you please post output (or a URL containing
files) of `devinfo -uv` and `devinfo -rv`?

For the network issue: What do you get if kldload'ing if_re?

RAID was and is disabled in BIOS. I am guessing there isn't a way to
turn it off completely so that it is not detected.

The console output from booting with USB re-enabled w/ verbose logging
seems identical to the one submitted at the creation of the ticket.

I've tried kldload, and it did not enable networking for me.

Outputs from `devinfo -uv` and `devinfo -rv` are also included.

By now, the version that it was created against is long out of suppoprt.
