I have a server that reboots each night when running the daily tasks. I manually run these tasks to find out which one is causing the reboot. It seems the server crashes and reboots when /etc/periodic/daily/130.clean-msgs is executed I did not find any solution when searching online, therefore I ask here. Fix: No idea How-To-Repeat: It seems the server crashes and reboots when /etc/periodic/daily/130.clean-msgs is executed
State Changed From-To: open->feedback Alwin, can you please check if there's a core dump in /var/crash? Anything in the logs (/var/log/messages)? A panic message on the console? What does `grep clean_msgs /etc/defaults/periodic.conf /etc/periodic.conf` give? Is your /var filesystem clean? Does `msgs -c` when run as root also make your box do a reboot? Anything strange in /var/msgs/? Does `rm /var/msgs/bounds; touch /var/msgs/bounds` solve your problem?
