Description Gavin Atkinson freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2008-09-22 16:30:02 UTC
Add support for the USB HSDPA modem found in the Sony VGN-TZ31WN laptop,
amongst others.

Fix: Note that I've taken the name "Scorpion" from the Linux driver, which also contains
a multitude of other product IDs we may want to port across wholesale. Note also
that this patch is against -HEAD but has actually only been tested against RELENG_7.
I don't believe there are any changes between the two that would mean this didn't
work on -HEAD, however.
How-To-Repeat: N/A

Remark from Gavin Atkinson:

"Given that it appears most, if not all, Option modems seem to work the
same, I wonder if we could just copy the whole list of USB ids from the
Linux driver:

	http://fxr.watson.org/fxr/source/drivers/usb/serial/option.c?v=linux-2.6
".

Assign this bug to me. Adding the ID is one thing, considering the
adding of all IDs found in the Linux another. But the real question is
whether the Linux driver contains useful stuff: DTR/DSD handling.

Warner says: "I've added them to the uipaq driver..."

No time to work on this anytime soon.

This hardware is supported by the u3g driver. This PR can be closed.

To submitter: hps claims that this should now be supported by the u3g
driver. Can you confirm this? Thanks.

Grab, I'll consider doing the suggested ID import.
