From install DVD, after installing system and trying to boot it locks up right after: Pci1. Pci bus on pcib7 The LCD on the PowerEdge reports: E1410 cpu1 ierr. E1410. Cpu2. Ierr System works fine with 7.0-RELEASE amd 64 it is a Dell PowerEdge 2950-iii with 2x4core Intel processors and 8GB RAM. It has a Perc RAID controller and the system is booting from a RAID 1 of 2x76GB SATA disks. Fix: unknown How-To-Repeat: try to install on PE2950 and boot for the 1st time
Solution, or at least work-a-around. Upgrade BIOS to 2.5.1 from Dell's website. The flash floppy will reboot itself at the end of the upgrade and FreeBSD will lock up again. However, it appears that after power cycling the server, the problem goes away. -----Original Message----- From: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org [mailto:FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org]=20 Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 10:20 AM To: Weldon Godfrey Subject: Re: misc/140018: locks up during boot on cpu error on Dell PowerEdge 2950-iii Thank you very much for your problem report. For bugs matching the following criteria: Status: In Progress Changed: (is less than) 2014-06-01 Reset to default assignee and clear in-progress tags. Mail being skipped
It seems that issue was resolved with bios upgrade. Also, there is not enough information to analyze given issue, and because of bug age, receiving additional information is difficult. Moreover, used FreeBSD version is no longer supported.
