Description David Kopecky 2011-02-22 14:10:11 UTC
/

Only the above text is all what I see on the screen then the system
reboots itself. It is independent on install boot media (CD, USB ..)

System start boot OK when I set SATA controller to non-RAID mode (IDE)
or when there is no disks on SATA

HW:
ASUS M4A785S motherbd.
AMD Phenom 9500 64bit 2.2GHz quad
16G RAM
2x 2TB disks RAID1 on integrated SATA controller (chipset AMD SB750)

I think the problem is with SATA RAID BIOS (the bios version is:
AMD 3.0.1540.39) versus boot loader.

Fix:

Don't use SATA controller in RAID mode

Responsible Changed
From-To: freebsd-bugs->freebsd-amd64

sounds hardware-specific.

Unfortunately this PR was never addressed before these versions of FreeBSD went out of support. Sorry.

If this is still a problem, please open a new PR. Thanks.
