Description Matthias Andree freebsd_committer 2011-05-26 10:50:06 UTC
Dear maintainer,

I've recently relied on the fact that your port set USE_BDB=3+.
Apparently this was bogus, the port build fails with BDB 4.0 or newer.

Also, the port lacks the 2009 patches from
http://www.squidguard.org/Downloads/Patches/1.4/ and triggers quite a
few warnings with portlint -C -- please review and update the port.

Berkeley DB upgrade instructions are at

Please check with the upstream maintainer of a db4- or db5-capable
version or patches of/for squidGuard already exist, or contribute them

If you cannot work with particular newer versions, use INVALID*
variables as in /usr/ports/Mk/bsd.database.mk.

Thank you.

Best regards

Comment 4 Matthias Andree freebsd_committer 2011-05-26 12:27:25 UTC
Apparently the Berkeley DB versions 4.1 and 4.8 are fine, so versions in
between will likely work, too.

However, please review and add the missing patches - they might be
security relevant or fix other bugs. If they aren't needed, please
respond here with reasons so that I can remove the FORBIDDEN= mark.
