Description Carl 2011-06-28 10:10:12 UTC
The cpio(1), actually bsdcpio(1), man page makes no mention that the GNU cpio options -0 and --null are supported, but it turns out they actually are. The man page should be updated to reflect this fact and perhaps to include an example of use with the -print0 option of the find command.

Fix:

Add missing options to cpio/bsdcpio(1) man page.
How-To-Repeat: Try the -0 or --null option:

# cpio --rubbish
cpio: Option --rubbish is not supported
Brief Usage:
  List: cpio -it < archive
  Extract: cpio -i < archive
  Create: cpio -o < filenames > archive
  Help: cpio --help
# cpio --null
cpio: Must specify at least one of -i, -o, or -p
