Description Patrick Dorion 2011-10-04 14:00:20 UTC
An unhandled exception causes a stack overflow in gptzfsboot and possibly in its parent and siblings.

Fix:

- Unreference the file.
How-To-Repeat: - Add 'loader_conf_files="/boot/device.hints /boot/loader.conf' to /boot/loader.conf;
- Restart the machine.

I believe that the problem happens in (zfs)loader, not (gpt)(zfs)boot code.

You shot your foot by adding /boot/loader.conf to loader_conf_files, which
caused a recursion in parsing of loader.conf.

^Triage: I'm sorry that this PR did not get addressed in a timely fashion.

By now, the version that it was created against is long out of support.
As well, many newer versions of ZFS have been imported.

Please re-open if it is still a problem on a supported version.
