Description Mohammad Shafiee 2012-06-22 18:00:10 UTC
The patch includes new syscons font (/usr/share/syscons/fonts/) for Persian language support.
It's a 8 bit font and designed in three size of 8x8, 8x14, 8x16.
The encoding is based on "Iran System" standard. "Iran System" encoding standard is an 8-bit character encoding scheme. This standard is widely in use in Iran in text mode programs.

This font has been published with BSD license: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bsdpersiancons/

The patch contains 4 files: Three font files [pe-irsys-8x8.fnt, pe-irsys-8x14.fnt, pe-irsys-8x16.fnt] and [INDEX.fonts] patch.

Persian (also known as Farsi or Parsi) is the official Iranian language. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and countries which historically came under Persian influence. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_language]
