Description Lynn Steven Killingsworth 2012-08-07 22:00:07 UTC
I installed Xorg 7.5.2 and KDE4 4.8.4 when getting a new driver for my AMD 7950 video card from the STABLE list. I notice that when I select Open GL for my rendering option under System Settings then Desktop Effects then Advance that my selection must be re-selected every time after reboot. It defaults to Xrender.

How-To-Repeat: Just reboot

misc/170466

I might add that when I switched to GL several times after I noticed this
problem I received messages that the parameters of xorg needed changes
otherwise I must use xRender for compositing and etc for my video. I know
- I have a new [perhaps 5 months] AMD Radeon HD 7950 so the drivers are
still early drivers.

This bug is quite old; is it still valid with WITH_NEW_XORG and a more recent KDE?
