Currently DTrace requires the kernel being uncompressed. It would be desirable to have it automatically use corresponding decompress libraries to access kernel if it's compressed with e.g. gzip(1). Fix: Not yet. This is a note so it wouldn't be forgotten. How-To-Repeat: gzip /boot/kernel/kernel (with loader support of LOADER_GZIP_SUPPORT, which is default), boot the system and try dtrace -l.
