Booting over IP virtual CD/USB interface with Supermicro X8DT3-F fails with error message: "Mounting from cd9660:/dev/iso9660:/dev/iso9660/FREEBSD_INSTALL failed with error 19" Fix: With mountroot error 19 just wait ca 10-20 seconds and you should see cd or usb device popping up on mountroot prompt. Then just type in variable from where kernel should start booting up (kernel will tell you correct command by itself): mountroot> cd9660:/iso9660/FREEBSD_INSTALL How-To-Repeat: Boot up from Supermicro X8DT3-F (or any other buggy/slow server hardware) with FreeBSD versions from 8.2-9.1. Install CD and/or USB boot environment will boot from virtual interface but every time it bombs out with error 19 because underline USB device is missing. Only FreeBSD version 8.1 was able to boot and install without problem because there was options built into kernel: kern.cam.boot_delay=4000 kern.cam.scsi_delay=4000
