Since the update of Openbox to 3.5.2_4, switching to a lower resolution with xrandr works but the dimensions of the desktop do not change, so application windows and panel/taskbar (tint) are drawn partially off-screen. Xrandr was working perfectly before.
Sorry, I forgot: FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE-p4, GENERIC kernel, i386, WITH_NEW_XORG.
Over to maintainer.
Hmm... It looks like it's a type of an issue that should be reported upstream. Though... > Xrandr was working perfectly before. Could you please elaborate what do you mean by 'before'?

Hmm, the actual version of openbox (I mean the code itself) has not been updated for about a year, so the problem is probably not in the openbox itself. Port revision was bumped several times though, because of xorg updates for example. Anyway, could you share steps required to reproduce the problem so I could see if I can see it with my setup?
In a default install of Openbox the desktop starts at the correct resolution for my monitor (1366x768). Then I issue the following command to switch to a lower resolution: % xrandr -s 720x400 The dimensions of the desktop do not change, so application windows and panel/taskbar (tint) are drawn partially off-screen. Xrandr was working perfectly before updating Openbox. So, I think you have just to use xrandr to change to a lower resolution and check if Openbox adapt correctly the dimensions of the viewport. It could be a local problem (old ATI card, unusual resolution…).
I'm wondering if it's still relevant with the newer versions of packages in ports (incl. openbox)?
Sorry for the delay in replying. I have since decommissioned the computer showing the issue and I’ve not been able to reproduce it with a new one and Openbox 3.6, so I think we can close the PR. Thanks again for your attention.
