Description Jordan Irwin 2014-08-20 17:10:46 UTC
I'm not sure which package installed net/libilbc but kopete will not build if it is installed. Kopete seems to mistake net/libilbc for net/ilbc, which it needs for build & both cannot be installed side by side.

assign to maintainer instead of CC
Comment 2 Jordan Irwin 2014-08-31 06:22:22 UTC
I didn't think it let me assign. I'll double-check next bug I post.

You misunderstood.

I already assigned the PR, that was a log of what I was doing.

It could have said, "I am assigning the PR to the maintainer even though he's in CC".

Look at the history tab to see what happened when I made that comment.
Comment 4 Jordan Irwin 2014-08-31 07:26:21 UTC
Okay, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't see how this can be solved on the Kopete side -- both libilbc and ilbc install the same library and at least look like drop-in replacements.

One hackish solution would be depending on a header that is installed only by net/ilbc, but I'd first like to see what kind of build failure you're getting. Can you provide a log here?

Ports should try to use net/libilbc such that net/ilbc can be removed. This requires a bit of work in some cases because the net/libilbc header doesn't define everything that's in the net/ilbc headers.

Closing, this should not be a problem ever since bug 199546 removed the dependency on the audio/msilbc port from Kopete.
