Make mail/claws-mail's libetpan dependency optional
mail/claws-mail's libetpan dependency is only required for NNTP and IMAP,
the attached patch makes it optional.
Auto-assigned to maintainer pawel@FreeBSD.org
While this looks ok from technical point of view I'm wondering what's
motivation for this option. As a maintainer I try to keep available
options to minimum - less things to can go wrong and less testing on
Can you elaborate on why you need this option? IMAP seems to be
essential these days.
I build ports from source and prefer not to compile and install stuff I don't actually want to use.
Having the libetpan option in the official ports tree is not essential for me, I use local patches anyway. I mainly submitted the patch based on the assumption that it might be useful for other users as well.
I agree that the majority of Claws-Mail users are unlikely to care about this option, but that's probably true for other options as well.
Sorry but I decided against including your patch. While you are right
that there some options similar to what you propose I kept them
for backward compatibility when taking over maintainership of
claws-mail ports from netchild@.
No problem, I understand your point of view.
