Description Robert Cina 2014-11-08 00:11:20 UTC
The port x11-wm/hs-xmonad fails to install on my 10-stable system.

Comment 2 Gabor Pali freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2014-11-08 00:28:23 UTC
Do you have some more details, e.g. a complete build log, configured port options and the configured options for the lang/ghc port?
Comment 3 Robert Cina 2014-11-08 00:46:21 UTC
The x11-wm/hs-xmonad port has the following configuration options enabled:

[x] DOCS Build and/or install documentation
[x] DYNAMIC Add Support for dynamic linking

The lang/ghc port has the following configuration options enabled:

[x] DOCS Install HTML Documentation
[x] DYNAMIC Add support for dynamic linking
[x] PROFILE Add support for performance profiling

I looked for a build log in the working directory but couldn't find it. Maybe you can clue me in on where to find it so i can provide it for you.
Comment 4 Gabor Pali freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2014-11-08 00:56:38 UTC
I guess you will have to simply save the output of the make(1) command by redirecting it to a file? As far as I am aware, the Ports Collection does not save the build logs automatically.

Comment 6 Gabor Pali freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2014-11-11 10:07:11 UTC
Sorry, but I could not reproduce this with a recent 10-STABLE. Did not you experience anything unusual on your system or in the logs, such as the output of dmesg(8)?
Comment 7 Robert Cina 2014-11-11 13:47:32 UTC
No I didn't notice anything peculiar in the logs, nor is my system behaving unusual. In the meantime I will keep looking for a solution to my problem. In the worst case I will just end up installing from the repo using pkgng if necessary.

For what it's worth here is my dmesg output:

Comment 8 Robert Cina 2014-11-11 17:08:10 UTC
Solved my problem with this issue. I reinstalled the lang/ghc port. Afterwards hs-xmonad compiled without any issue. Still don't know what the reason was for this issue cropping up for me. But happy it is solved.

I guess this bug report can be closed now.

Thanks

Oh, I am sorry to spot your reply so late, it has probably escaped my humble attention. I am closing the bug report.
