Description Jason W. Bacon freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2014-11-16 16:44:01 UTC
Printing to my Laserjet 1100 stopped working following a recent pkg upgrade.

Printouts would produce nothing but "%PDF-1.5" at the top of the page. In some cases, such as printing a test page from localhost:631, the print job would remain in the queue after it was finished.

Setting CUPS LogLevel to debug did not reveal any errors.

The following fixed the issue:

pkg delete '*hpijs*'
cd /usr/ports/print/hpijs
make install

It's possible that you had a dirty repo (fixed with pkg -f upgrade).
In any case, this port is not maintained and this particular package was probably rebuilt many times in the last 2 months.

I'm going to close with "unable to reproduce". I don't know what else could be done.
