I love, and very much miss send-pr. Given it was written with gnats in mind. It's clear it has no place [currently] with devel/bugzilla. This is an attempt to rectify that issue. By re-writing send-pr against bugzilla. I have only just started. I'm loading up a copy of devel/bugzilla now, to work against. But feel it prudent to get feedback on how this would all be best implemented, where those actually running bugzilla at bugs.freebsd.org, are concerned. Thank you for all your time, and consideration. --Chris
This would be best discussed on the mailing lists rather than in a bugzilla entry.
As the reply suggests, this is best for the mailing lists for discussion.
I am also working on a shell rewrite using pybugz.
(In reply to Philip M. Gollucci from comment #3) > I am also working on a shell rewrite using pybugz. Do you want to re-open and take the PR in this case?
So the information doesn't get lost... @Ed Maste && @Glen Barber; Good advice, which I followed nearly immediately after submitting this PR(1). @ anyone To which Alfred@ was kind enough to share some Python code he felt might "fit the bill". I would have jumped on it, except that that would require that Python be installed. Given that Python isn't in BASE, this would make send-pr unavailable to those who run into problems initially, or are otherwise running in (resource) confined environments; think embedded, or perhaps, an initial install. As it is, send-pr has no requirements that aren't readily available under *any* circumstances, and IMHO it would be more valuable if kept that way. I continue to work on the (pre)requisites to get it to communicate with the (largely) Python powered Bugzilla. Thus far, I have found nothing that necessitates Python, to fulfill it's designated task -- to send a PR(1). :) Thank you for all your time, and consideration in this matter! --Chris
