Enabling omrelp by default or adding an rsyslog8-relp port/package definition to the tree (as in the rsyslog5 days) would be a very nice addition for those of us using relp in production environments with no local repo.

In the almost two years since this feature request we've moved away from relp, and since no one else seems to have missed this, it's probably not a relevant feature request any more.

What are you using instead?

I am looking at creating a sub-port for RELP to make it easier for everyone.

We're using the omfwd module to send logs over tcp now, having switched from an old static logstore to a fluentd based log distribution system.
