Provides termcap information for st

x11/sterm compiled from ports tree, but displays oddly and many programs such as tmux, screen, top etc. do not run properly with the $TERM variable set to st-256color. The problem appears to be that the port is not updating the termcap, resulting in the system being unable to recognise the terminal emulator.

I have tried, and failed to get the termcap updated properly. I have already attempted the obvious, using tic with the st.info file from the official source code on st.suckless.org, but that has not made a difference. In any case, the port should be updating the system's termcap to prevent any issues for the end user.

I have attached a copy of the latest st.info so that this change can be mae.

So what you provided was terminfo information and not termcap which FreeBSD uses. So it will not work per developers workaround is xterm-color

Is there any update on this? I installed sterm today and cannot use it because of this.

As advised use xterm-color as st does not support term cap. As it breaks. The program works without issues (In reply to mmatalka from comment #4)

As this will not be fixed until upstream fixes it.
