Log of X attempting and failing to initialize.

Problem description: When attempting to launch X on FreeBSD 11-Current (AMD64), the X server crashes. Suspecting this may be due to a problem with the ATI/AMD Radeon drivers, I switched to using the vesa graphics driver. Even with using vesa in a failsafe manner, the X display server is still unable to launch.

A copy of my Xorg log file is attached.

My video card is a Radeon HD 6410, which is not listed as working or not working in the compatibility matrix (https://wiki.freebsd.org/Graphics).

I will be happy to provide further information on my hardware or its configuration upon request if it will help.

Hi!
Is this still an issue with an updated xorg stack?
Comment 2 Jesse Smith 2018-01-12 22:23:12 UTC
I tried this again a few weeks ago. Using FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE the OS won't even boot on my workstation so the Xorg issue is a bit moot.

What's the issue when booting? Any error messages?
Comment 4 Jesse Smith 2018-01-12 22:56:15 UTC
It has been a few weeks, but I believe the system froze right at the start of the boot process with an error indicating ACPI was not working/correct. We can probably close this bug and I'll open a new one after 11.2 comes out if the boot problem persists.

Ok
