some more info - previous host was 10.1 rev 273560 previous virtualbox 4.2.6 after disabling the hpet timer in the vm config it seems to work ok currently; the freebsd 9.1 vm is also running with hpet timer enabled, yet it works fine both are running in "tickfree" mode (kern.eventtimer.periodic=0)
correction: previous GUEST was 10.1 rev 273560
9.3 and 10.1 are gone. This is overcome by events.
Close here: overcome by events and feedback timeout. If there are still problems open a new PR.
