For the past release or two, Chromium has not been installing extensions. I am running chromium-43.0.2357.134. Is anyone else succesfully downloading / installing extensions?
NPAPI plugins are no longer supported by Chrome/Chromium.
Interesting, but for a brief time, when I was on 44.0.2403.107, extensions worked. As well as file dialogs (https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=201865). After upgrading to 44.0.2403.125, I am not able to install extensions again.
Extensions != plugins. Extensions don't use the NPAPI (or PPAPI) and should continue to work. This is probably related to general file download problems in current versions of Chromium under FreeBSD.
Works for me on latest chromium version. # pkg info chromium chromium-44.0.2403.155 Name : chromium Version : 44.0.2403.155 Installed on : Sun Sep 6 17:41:36 CDT 2015 Origin : www/chromium Architecture : freebsd:11:x86:64 Prefix : /usr/local Categories : www Licenses : MPL and LGPL21 and BSD3CLAUSE Maintainer : chromium@FreeBSD.org WWW : http://www.chromium.org/Home Comment : Google web browser based on WebKit Options : CODECS : on DEBUG : off DRIVER : off GCONF : on KERBEROS : on PULSEAUDIO : off TEST : off
